Cultural Inventory

One of the first steps in developing a cultural plan or forming a community arts organization is to identify local cultural assets and resources. A cultural inventory identifies people, places, and organizations that are unique to your community.

There are five basic steps to conducting an inventory:

1. Organizing a committee

2. Engaging the community

3. Identifying assets and resources

4. Assign a community benefit

5. Document the cultural inventory
