In partnership with the Community Archiving Workshop and the Association of Moving Image Archivists, ATALM is seeking a tribally affiliated partner (or partners) with unprocessed collections of audiovisual materials (film, video, audio recordings) to participate in the October 8 workshop at ATALM. ATALM will cover registration fees for the partnering organization as well as shared lodging.

Workshop participants will work in teams under the guidance of audiovisual professionals to inspect, label and inventory each asset- resulting in a detailed inventory. This is a great way to kickstart processing and preservation planning for your collection. Last years workshop successfully processed over 100 recordings for the Medweganoonind Library and Tribal Archives of Red Lake Nation.

Partners will have the opportunity to:
• gain intellectual and physical control over their audiovisual collection
• learn to identify formats and risk factors
• develop preservation recommendations for their audiovisual collection

Partner requirements:
• Able to transport collection (maximum 200 assets) to the workshop.
• Available for pre-workshop planning meetings (by phone).
• Ideal collection would include various formats (mix of film, video, audio).
